Four Decades of Courage is written from a collection of official records, diaries and memories of the members of the 7th Bombardment Group from the beginning of World War I until 1945. Its group's history is linked directly to the development of flight itself, so the book also touches on the United States' aviation pioneers. However, the most important aspect of the book is the accomplishments of the 7th Bombardment Group and its squadrons.
