My Uncle, Lt. George Truett Elliot was pilot of the Burma Bitch, 9thBS. He and his co-pilot, 2nd Lt. Morris Paul Maag and crew were killed after the Burma Bitch put herself between Jap Zeros and his flight leader on or around December 1, 1943, Insein, Burma. Truett was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal, and Silver Star. His co-pilot Morris Magg received the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal. I never knew him but after his brother Lt. Col James Elliot, my father, passed away, I found pictures, medals etc. I would like to find out more about him, his crew, missions, other planes, surviving airmen etc. Any leads anyone could provide would be appreciated.
