Info from Frank: This is the picture of the "Calamity Jane". My brother, Ray, is in the front row, far left. He was probably 21 years old at the time. After his tour in the South Pacific, he volunteered to go to Europe and died in a B-17 over Germany. There were no survivors. But I would like to find a relative of the Calamity Jane crew that would like to communicate, assuming there are any surviving today. Another side story on the Calamity Jane. The picture was originally a nude. It was during an inspection by a General that the artist was told to put a sweater on her. I have seen a small picture of the nude but have no idea if it still exists today. The pictures were held by my sister in law for a time and now are in the possession of my niece. If you get any feed back on the Calamity Jane, would sure like to hear. Thanks, Frank Spaulding
Additional information: Bottom row, third from right: Ralph Mikasen. Ralph also painted the noseart on the aircraft.
