Information contributed by Rob: I am very interested in WWII aviation, and recently purchased an A-4 Navigation case full of papers, once owned by a Louis Pattenault, from Ellensburg, WA, who was with Air Transport Command, probably a navigator. Anyway, in his case was a photo of a B-17E. With a loup, I could just make out the serial number 41-2457. A search of the internet for that number landed me on your 7th Bomb Group web page. The B-17 is listed as "Per Diem". Presumably one of the men is Lieutenant (eventually Lt. Colonel) Pattenault.
