Photo taken at Pandaveswar, 18 Nov 1943. This was an AP wirephoto titled "Crew of Record-Making Plane". Crewmembers line up in front of their Liberator bomber of the 10th U.S. Army Air Force in the Burma-India theater which made the longest over-water combat hop of the war, flying over more than 1,000 miles of open water when assigned to photograph enemy installations on an island in the Nicobar group, in the Bay of Bengal, 700 miles southwest of Rangoon.
