Note from Steve: My uncle, Elmer Thiessen, is kneeling, second from the left. I have no other names of any of the others. I think this picture was taken somewhere in Texas (maybe El Paso?) before going overseas. He was a belly gunner. He was my mother's brother.
I do remember him talking about flying gasoline over the "hump" , and how scary that was. I can't remember if it was him or other family member who said he flew on the B-24 Shoot You're Covered. I'm also pretty sure he used to go to reunions regularly before his health prevented him from doing so.
